Mental illness effects all of us in one way or another. In a talk that draws on her own personal experience as a mother of a son with schizophrenia, Barbara Lee VanHorssen will walk us through the various ways society has dealt with mental illness over time, the scope of the problems facing us today, and the concrete ways we can respond when we or a loved one experiences mental health concerns. She will share the success they are having at the Momentum Center for Social Engagement and challenge us all to help create a stigma free community.
Lunch begins at noon, followed by a brief business meeting and the program. Reservations are required for the luncheon and are due no later than noon on Thursday, August 1. Guests are welcome. To make or cancel reservations, email Renee Strothman at email@example.com or call her at 260.438.8447. The $16.00 luncheon fee is due at the door and includes meal, beverage, and gratuity. Please note that Counterpart is charged for each lunch ordered, so if you have a reservation, payment is due even if you cannot attend.
The program is open to the public. People who want to only hear the program without having lunch are welcome to arrive at 12:30.
