Our speaker is Gerald (Jerry) Schoenmaker.  He will tell us about The Golden Age of the Netherlands—”The Dutch Touch” in the 17th century, during which time Dutch trade, science, military, and art were among the most acclaimed in the world.  Jerry will also talk about his hometown of Hoorn in the province of North Holland.

To make or cancel reservations, call or email Martha Roldan: 616.607.9205,

Simply pay the $11.00 luncheon fee at the door.  Reservations are due by noon the Monday prior to the luncheon.  Please note: Counterpart is charged for each luncheon plate ordered. Once you make a reservation, payment for your meal is due even if you cannot attend the luncheon.

The Center for Women in Transition will be collecting gently-used clothes and accessories for the Fall Clothing Drive.  CWIT will have a van at the entrance to the Holiday Inn to start collecting your donations at 11:30 am.  Receipts available on request.

Contributions to the clothing drives have been dropping off in recent years, so we urge you to take a good look in your closets and put those little-worn outfits and accessories to good use.  At CWIT, women can visit the “Wardrobe for Work” and are assisted in selecting several outfits that can be worn for interviews and work attire.  Your generosity could be the difference in some woman feeling more confident and getting a job. CWIT is also in need of personal care products and gently-used towels.

Envelopes will also be on the tables to collect funds for our CWIT Adopt-a-Family. Donations may be made via cash or check. Please make checks payable to Jan Tomhave.
